I feel bad for people who arrived ON the day of orientation (the 8th) because of jet lag. That would really stink... I'm lucky I had plenty of time to adjust my sleep schedule in Denmark because it was definitely challenging to fix my sleep schedule.
IES Study Abroad is VERY thorough and I've been super happy with everything so far! (Except for the linen and bath pack they had available for us to buy. RIP OFF for crap stuff when I could have bought better/cuter things for WAY CHEAPER at Primark. GRRR I hate wasting money. Especially on ugly crap). We were given a lot of information about classes, safety, field trips... whew. All totally useful, it's just a lot to get oriented and a bit overwhelming.
I went to try a restaurant with some other kids in my program called Hummus Bros. They serve various different types of hummus with different toppings and it was really filling (couldn't even finish it and I was really hungry and only ordered a small!) and delicious!!! It's really close to the IES Centre.
Primark was CRAZY. It was huge and swarming with people. It was just the epitome of consumerism. Really cheap stuff, really popular styles... just this barrage of mass consumption. It's the sort of thing that makes me really nervous but it wasn't too bad. Just goes to show that I'm not as anxious and don't get panicky as easily as I used to! Which is something I'm really happy about. Anyways, I don't really want to go there again but it was a good, cheap place to buy some towels and pajama shorts (which I 'need' because our room is surprisingly HOT and HUMID). I have only seen a store that crowded on the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas shopping.
